Corrections Policy
I try really hard to get things right — every product detail, every price, every claim I share. But I’m one person running a blog, and sometimes I get something wrong. When that happens, I want you to tell me, and I want you to see me fix it.
My Promise
If I publish something that’s inaccurate — a wrong ingredient, an outdated price, a misremembered detail about a product — I’ll correct it quickly and openly. No quietly editing and pretending it never happened. You trust me to be honest, and that includes being honest about my own mistakes.
Kinds of Changes I Make
- Corrections — I got a fact wrong. I fix it and add a little note in the post with the date, so you can see what changed.
- Clarifications — What I wrote was right but confusing. I rewrite it more clearly.
- Updates — The world moved on. A product got reformulated, a price changed, or I learned something new. I refresh the post and note the update date.
How to Tell Me About a Mistake
Spotted something that looks off? Please let me know — it genuinely helps. Email hello@mygoldenretrieverlife.com with the subject line “Correction” and include:
- The link to the post
- What looks wrong (quoting the specific line helps a lot)
- What you think is right, and where you saw it — a product page, a label, your own experience
Anyone can reach out — readers, fellow bloggers, brands, vets. I’ll give every note a fair look.
How Corrections Look
For anything meaningful, I add a short, clearly marked note in the post — usually near the top — with the date and what changed. Tiny typo fixes I might just fix without a note. Updated posts get a fresh “last updated” date so you always know how current the information is.
How Fast I’ll Respond
I aim to reply to correction notes within two business days, and to fix straightforward factual errors within five. If I need to double-check something with a manufacturer or my vet, it might take a little longer — but I’ll tell you that’s happening.
Disagreements vs. Mistakes
Here’s the thing about a personal blog: a lot of it is experience, and experiences differ. If your golden loved a product my golden hated, that’s not a mistake — that’s just two different dogs! I won’t change an honest account of my experience just because someone disagrees with it.
But if I’ve gotten a fact wrong — an ingredient, a claim, a number — I’ll fix it no matter whose product it is. Facts are facts, even on a friendly blog.
