Disclosure

The honest version, up front: This site may receive compensation from brands mentioned in my posts. All opinions are my own — always. I only share products I’ve personally tried or genuinely researched, and no brand gets to buy a good review.

I follow the FTC’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, but more than that, I follow a simple rule: I tell you the truth about money, because you deserve to know when a link might earn me something.

Affiliate Links

Some links on this blog are affiliate links. That means if you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. The price is exactly the same either way.

Here’s what that does and doesn’t mean:

  • It helps keep this blog running — hosting, domain, and the occasional product I test all cost money
  • It never changes my opinion — I write my honest experience first, and add the link after
  • It never stops me from being critical — some posts that earn me commissions also point out real flaws, because that’s what honest looks like

Free Products and Sponsorships

Sometimes a brand sends me a free product to try, or pays to sponsor a post. When that happens, I say so — clearly, at the top of the post. A free product does not guarantee a good review; plenty of free products have earned honest “not for us” verdicts. Sponsored posts are the brand’s story, and I label them so you always know the difference.

And for the record: I turn down more sponsorship offers than I accept. If a brand wants me to promise a positive review before I’ve tried anything, that’s a no from me.

Ads

You may see ads on some pages. They help keep the blog free to read. Advertisers don’t choose what I write about, don’t see my posts early, and don’t get a say in my opinions.

My Promise to You

This blog exists because I was tired of not being able to tell who was being honest online. So here’s my standard:

  • I only recommend what I’d recommend to a friend
  • If I got something free or got paid, I tell you
  • If something didn’t work for my dogs, I tell you that too
  • If I make a mistake, I fix it and say so — see my Corrections Policy

One More Thing

Remember that I’m a dog owner sharing experiences, not a vet. Nothing here is medical advice — please talk to your veterinarian before changing anything about your dog’s care. My Medical Disclaimer explains this fully.
