Your privacy matters to me, so I keep this as simple and honest as everything else on the blog: I collect as little as I need, I never sell your personal information, and I’ll always tell you what I do collect. This policy covers mygoldenretrieverlife.com.
What I Collect
Things you share with me. If you email me, use a contact form, or leave a comment, I get whatever you choose to share — usually your name, email address, and your message.
Things collected automatically. Like most blogs, mine collects basic technical info when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, which pages you read, where you came from, and when. I use this in the aggregate — to see which posts resonate and to make the blog better. It doesn’t tell me who you are personally.
Cookies
Cookies are little files your browser stores. I use them (and similar tools) to:
- Remember your preferences
- Understand how readers use the blog (analytics)
- Support ads and affiliate tracking where they appear
You can turn cookies off or delete them in your browser settings any time — the blog will still work, though a couple of features might be limited. Where the law requires me to ask before using non-essential cookies, I ask.
Analytics
I use analytics to see which posts get read, where visitors come from, and how the blog is doing overall. It’s all big-picture numbers — I’m not building personal profiles of my readers, and I never will.

Sharing
The only people who see limited data are the services that help me run the blog — hosting, analytics, email — and they’re bound by agreements that restrict how they use it. I’d only disclose information if the law required it or to protect the blog and its readers. I never share your personal information with advertisers in a way that identifies you.
Your GDPR Rights
If you’re in the European Economic Area, you can: see your data, correct or delete it, restrict or object to how it’s used, get a copy of it, and withdraw consent any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Just email hello@mygoldenretrieverlife.com and I’ll take care of it.
Your California (CCPA) Rights
If you’re a California resident, you can: know what personal information I collect, ask me to delete it, opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” (I don’t sell personal information), and be free from any discrimination for using these rights. Requests go to hello@mygoldenretrieverlife.com.
Kids’ Privacy
This blog isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent me something personal, let me know and I’ll delete it right away.
Keeping It Safe and Not Keeping It Forever
I only keep personal information as long as I need it, and I use reasonable safeguards to protect it. That said, nothing on the internet is perfectly secure — so please don’t email me anything deeply sensitive that you wouldn’t want sent online.
Visitors From Outside the U.S.
If you’re reading from another country, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may be different from yours.
Changes to This Policy
If I update this policy, the newest version will be right here with a fresh date, and I’ll flag any big changes on the blog.
