About My Golden Retriever Life

About My Golden Retriever Life

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here! My Golden Retriever Life is my little corner of the internet where I share the real, unfiltered experience of living with golden retrievers — the mud, the fur, the vet bills, the belly rubs, and everything I’ve learned along the way.

How This Started

This blog began the way most good things do: with a dog who needed help. When my golden started struggling with an upset stomach and low energy, I did what any worried dog parent does — I went down the internet rabbit hole. What I found was a lot of marketing and not a lot of honesty. Everyone seemed to be selling something, and almost nobody was just telling the truth about what actually worked and what was a waste of money.

So I started writing down what I tried, what happened, and what I’d do differently. Friends asked to read my notes. Their friends asked too. And this blog was born.

What You’ll Find Here

Everything on this site comes from real life with real dogs:

  • Product experiences — honest accounts of the supplements, foods, and gear I’ve actually tried, including the ones that didn’t work out
  • Health and digestion journeys — what we’ve been through with sensitive stomachs, itchy skin, and picky eating, and what helped
  • Everyday golden life — training, grooming, travel, and the funny stuff that makes this breed so special
  • Lessons learned — the mistakes I made so you don’t have to

What This Blog Is (and Isn’t)

I want to be really clear about this: I am a dog owner, not a veterinarian. This is a personal experience blog. When I write about a supplement that helped my dog, that’s my experience with my dog — it’s not medical advice, and it might be completely different for yours. Always talk to your vet before trying anything new. I say this a lot, and I mean it every time. My full Medical Disclaimer has the details.

Keeping It Honest

Trust between a blogger and her readers is everything, so here’s my promise: I only write about things I’ve genuinely tried or researched. When a post contains affiliate links or I’ve been compensated in some way, I tell you — plainly, at the top. If a product disappoints me, I say so, even if it costs me a commission. My readers matter more than any brand deal. The full details are in my Disclosure.

A Little About Me

I’m a lifelong golden retriever person — I grew up with them, and I can’t imagine a home without one. When I’m not writing, I’m usually at the dog park, in the kitchen making homemade treats, or negotiating with a very determined dog who believes the couch belongs to her.
